In this video, I will help you reconfigure Blender’s default settings. This will make it easy for you to open the Blender program on a regular basis and immediately start video editing.

Blender no longer has a “Prefetch Frames” setting – I’m not sure why they eliminated this option.
[ UPDATE for blender 2.73+ ]
One additional setting should be set.
Starting with blender 2.73, they turned the “OFFSETS” option off by default.
Go to View menu, below the “Sequencer” (Next to the Select Menu), and put a check mark next to “Show Offsets” – we want to see strip offsets in the future.
